Al Hilal - Al Nahda 97-84 There was no surprise in Riyadh where 9th ranked Al Nahda (4-14) was defeated by fourth ranked Al Hilal (13-5) 97-84 on Thursday. Al Hilal dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Al Nahda's 34. Al Hilal forced 19 Al Nahda turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for international center Mohammed Alsuwailem (211-98) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 21 rebounds. American swingman Dominique Sutton (198-86, college: NCCU) helped adding 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Al Hilal's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Jordan Washington (203-93, college: Iona) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds and Turkish Ozan Akyildiz (-87) scored 16 points. Five Al Hilal and four Al Nahda players scored in double figures. Al Hilal maintains fourth place with 13-5 record. Al Nahda lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Al Ansar. Ohod shot 66.1 percent from the field. Ohod outrebounded Al Ahly 29-18 including a 24-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Cleanthony Early (203-91, college: Wichita St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws). The former international forward Nassir Abojalas (196-94) helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Brian Halums (196-97, college: UAFS) responded with 30 points and Lebanese guard Karam Mechref (187-92, agency: BIG) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains fifth place with 12-5 record. Al Ahly lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. This time they beat 6th ranked Al Ittihad (7-11) 91-74 in Jeddah. Al Wehda dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Al Ittihad's 26. They outrebounded Al Ittihad 43-22 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Wehda players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Al Ittihad's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Mohammed AlMarwani (206-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. American-Bahrain Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Al Wehda players scored in double figures. The former international Mathna Almarwani (186-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Yasir Aljohani added 14 points and 4 steals in the effort for Al Ittihad. Al Wehda (14-4) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place, which they share with Al Fateh. Al Ittihad at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. They outrebounded Al Safa 60-31 including a 41-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of American Michael Murray (196-91, college: Coppin St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!), 19 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. The former international center Hani Al Mohammed (202-89) helped adding 15 points and 19 rebounds. Five Al Nasr players scored in double figures. At the losing side Mohammed Hezam responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Ali Alahmed scored 21 points. Al Nasr maintains third place with 13-4 record behind leader Al Wehda. Newly promoted Al Safa stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Algerian forward Mohamed Harath (198-90) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Mohammed Al Saqer (179-85) chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Al Fateh players scored in double figures. American forward Kyle Washington (206-93, college: Cincinnati) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 20 rebounds and forward Mostafa Fadil added 26 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Al Fateh have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Al Wehda. Al Ansar lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Al Nahda.
